I paid $22,549.00 ($16, 102.12 current USD) for my Fiesta ST brand new on February 8th 2015. Since then I’ve done approximately 120,000km (74,500miles) had 3 insurance claims and modified it...a bit with about $8,000 in parts “invested” (wasted) and another $2 ,000 in labour to install those parts .
I looked at used ST’s today on Autotrader and was surprised to find the prices are pretty high. In some cases more than I paid new (albeit for newer model years). I feel like mine would sell for a decent amount, likely a pretty low depreciation all said and done.
I personally think these will be looked back on fondly and that the clean ones will be worth something as some of the badly cared for ones are being cannibalized /destroyed by “youths”.

If they have the recaro package and the sunroof, that’s the big money on those, right there. If you don’t have the recaros, they’re dirt cheap over here. But low mileage examples with the recaro seat package are holding some value for now. Same with the FoST. Mine isn’t worth much (granted I payed very little for mine) but STs with the upgraded seats are enjoying steadier resale values.

Fun fact, we didn't get the option here. Every Canadian ST has Recaro seats

Yowza, you got a screamer of a deal on yours. That car was 24-26k USD when it was new.

“Reverse camera” is a lie.
Also, I can't believe they were so lazy to use the photos I sent on trade in.

AND it still took 2 weeks for them to post your photo, despite putting the Fiesta on the website like the day after.

Good luck with it turning a profit with the broken window switches, clicking fans, chipped paint, need of new tires and likely brakes, weird noise, and one accident.
No one here should buy it is what I'm getting at.

I guess that is why you didn’t want to sell it to me, more problems than my 34yr old BMW.

Asking prices and selling prices can be different worlds, but when you get a screaming bargain when new, you can do well for years.
I bet these days, trade in would be insulting though. You’ll get more joy from the car than the money they’d give for it.

That’s pretty sweet. Not un-expected I guess as they are discontinued now.
The price of mine used, 2019, manual 1.5 petrol Skoda Superb SE L Exec estate, is between £21-22,000 (a 2017 of the same spec with 1,700miles on the clock is going for £19,000), which is about what we made for it (after all the discounts, early buyer, loyalty discount, etc...) in February 2019, 14 months ago.
So the discounts covered any depreciation. Happy days.

There aren’t as many base ones, either. The majority sold were the ST3 package. The loaded ones have declined, but not as much as they could, especially if they haven’t been m odified within an inch of their lives (most have been).
I legitimately couldn’t see selling mine. It has just over 20k miles and it’s 5 years old, has been reliable, and is still reasonably fun.

some of the badly cared for ones are being cannibalized/destroyed by “youths”.
I can’t wait for these to be on their third owner and selling under 8k so I can buy one, crash it, part it out, and shove that motor into a Mk1 Rabbit.

Wow.. Don’t think I could let it go after that much wastevestment. I’d rather let it sit in the field. Parts must be a little high on those. I’m used to LSX stuff where you can dip into the 10’s with whatever change is in the ash tray. Cool though! Any dyno or track footage?

Nah, it’s nothing crazy. Mountune, the Ford tuner I buy from has expensive but good quality parts.
Most of my driving is back country and with oppos on Oppo drives.
Ive never risked it on a track or anything

I forget you’re in Canada do so that makes a huge difference converted over to USD. I never pulled the trigger on an ST so I live vicariously through the tales you share.
